Child Protection

This training will equip practitioners with the essential knowledge and skills to recognise signs of abuse and neglect and gain a crucial overview of how their role fits into Local Safeguarding Children Board policy.

Course Aims & Objectives

This training course will equip practitioners with the skills to;

  • Leave with a working knowledge of the legislative framework that underpins child protection.
  • Recognise signs of abuse and neglect.
  • Know how and when to report abuse and neglect.

The session will cover;

  • The legislation
  • Signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect
  • Procedures and policies – what do they mean to me?
  • Challenging your own practice as well as the practice of others
  • Disclosures and how to deal with them
  • Roles and responsibilities – what next?
