Young People & Homelessness - an introduction |
Homelessness and housing for young people remains a major issue. This thought provoking course will enable practitioners to successfully negotiate homelessness legislation providing them with the skills necessary to secure the best outcome for their clients.
Course Aims
- To provide a working knowledge of the legislative frameworks available to assist young people in housing need.
- To examine good practice guidance and models for housing young people.
Course Content
By the end of the session practitioners will be able to;
- Understand and apply multi agency and joint working frameworks using housing and children’s legislation.
- Identify the implications of the changes to the priority needs categories in the Homelessness Act 2002.
- Leave with an overview of the relevant sections of the Children Act on the provision of accommodation and support for children.
- Leave with an overview of the Leaving Care Act in relation to housing.
